Brief Summary of the Services Offered

High Volume Powder Coating - Cast Plus, Inc has two high volume lines located in the 40,000 sq. ft. Franklin facility.  Both systems feature a 5-stage pretreatment wash.  One line has 6 automatic guns and two manual booths; the other system features an environmentally controlled powder room with a quick-change color booth.

Low Volume and batch Powder Coating - Cast Plus, Inc also  features a very flexible low volume powder coat line and batch oven.  These systems are ideal for meeting lower capacity and specialty needs.

Plastisol Coating - Plastisol is a thermoset vinyl compound used to coat many items such as plier grips, wire racks, and battery covers.  This thick, plastic/rubber like coating offers protection form chemicals like sulfuric acid and provides cushion on a gripping surface.

Part Washing - Cast Plus, Inc offers part washing and vibratory services to remove many common soils such as cutting fluids and die lubes.  This service is very useful for fabricators, sandblasters, and any others who require a clean part for processing, assembly, or shipping.

Packaging/Set Assembly - Cast Plus, Inc can add custom hardware, apply labels, assemble sets and prepare parts for final shipment to end users.

Masking/Special Services - Masking is available for parts with threaded holes, machined surfaces or other areas that do not need to be coated.  Secondary services, such as drilling, tapping and sanding are also available.

Materials Coated - Powder and Plastisol coatings can be applied to steel, aluminum, and zinc castings, stampings, extrusions, and fabrications.

Delivery Services - Cast Plus, Inc. has a 24ft. box truck and two flatbed pickup trucks available for pick up and delivery.

Batch Powder Coating

Smaller volumes and/or products with odd sizes are typically coated in the batch system.  With this system Cast Plus, Inc. has the ability to provide excellent service to small jobs that need special attention.  Products run through this system include prototypes, walk-in jobs for motorcycle frames, and small volume machine fabrications.

The batch system has capabilities to run larger and heavier products with operating dimensions of 10'L x 7' T x 4' W.  As with the other systems at Cast Plus, Inc., it uses the very latest n manual application equipment and offers the flexibility to run several different colors and textures.

Mid Volume Powder Coating

The small to mid-size volume system has a basic product size of 18" x 24" x 8' (once again depending on configuration longer product can be run). This system was the first powder coat line at Cast Plus, Inc. and it uses the very latest in manual application equipment and offers the flexibility to run several different colors and textures. Depending on the product mix and turn-arounds required, this system may change colors over 4-5 times a shift or may run the same color for several shifts. This Steck Manufacturing, Bumper Tree benefits from powder coatings durable finish. The part shows one of the many powder coating colors available other than black.

High Volume Powder Coating

High volume powder coating is performed in our 40,000 sq. ft facility, situated along the Miami River and is aptly named "Riverfront". The two high volume powder coat lines are supported by ample warehousing space and a tool room for maintenance and rack/fixture building.

Both high volume powder coat lines features a five-stage iron phosphate wash system which is set-up to handle both steel and aluminum parts complete with a fluoride etch for Aluminum products and an optional De-ionized Halo water rinse with seal.  One of our high volume production systems has a product opening 24' W x 46' H x 10'L capabilities and uses both automatic and manual application equipment.  The other high volume system has 30'W x 60'H x 36'L capabilities and features a conditioned powder coating clean room.
These systems were designed to handle a variety of volume markets such as the automotive, trucking, retail fixtures and motor base industries.  Good examples of parts powder coated on these lines include motor bases produced by Overly Hautz www.overlyhautz.com , retail fixtures by Wire-Tek, and stampings by Long-Stanton Mfg. www.longstanton.com
The powder coating on these motor bases manufactured Overly Hautz is suitable as either a primer or finish coat providing a strong durable finish.
The powder coating on these retail fixtures provide an attractive appearance as well as a strong finish.

Several frame and underbody parts are manufactured by Mark Concepts, Inc. and powder coated by Cast Plus, Inc. for Kenworth trucks such as this T2000 Truck sold by Kenworth of Dayton.

Special Operations and Services

Many companies have gone to a "Just-In-Time" philosophy or by the nature of their business require a source that will meet dead lines on a consistent basis. Cast Plus, Inc. prides itself in the ability to provide quick 2-4 day turn-arounds on small to mid-sized and most high volume orders. Same-day and next day service may be coordinated upon request.

Masking is available for parts with threaded holes, machined surfaces or other areas you do not want painted. Cast Plus, Inc. also has the capabilities to perform other value added operations such as drilling, tapping, etc. to castings, stampings and fabrications as well as set packaging and assembly. Part cleaning is another operation offered by Cast Plus, Inc. Many times welders and sand blasters find it hard to work with parts covered in dirt and oils. The wash systems at Cast Plus, Inc. can remove most types of oils and greases which allow for more efficient welding on surfaces and prevents sand blast media from becoming contaminated with oil.

Custom Services

Cast Plus, Inc. welcomes custom work for individuals for items such as motorcycle frames, ATV's, go-cart frames, patio furniture, and cabinet hardware.  Most of the items will require the parts to be sandblasted prior to bringing them in for powder coating.  The cost for each will vary depending on size, quantity, and material required.  The following custom motorcycle trailer built by MOS Custom was powder coated by Cast, Plus, Inc. in a silver-vein with a clear powder coat.

Motorcycle Frames

  

Standard Cost - Single Coat, Stock Color $150 on average.

Parts must have a clean, bare metal surface free from rust and paint.

Glass/fine bead blasting is preferred.  The rougher the bead/shot, the rougher the final appearance.

Price includes a few small parts such as a swing arm and foot brackets.

Some colors such as silvers and metallics may require a clear coat.

  

Add a Clear Coat - $75 per frame

  

Special Colors - Non-stock powders may require an additional charge.  Average price is $65 for material.

  

Notes:

1. Cast Iron/Cast Aluminum Parts - Parts made form Cast Iron or Cast Aluminum may produce an out gassing effect which will leave pin holes and/or craters in the painted surface.  Cast Plus cannot control this and will not accept responsibility for problems.

  

2. All parts will be heated to temperatures above 400°F.  Lead fills, body filler, rubber gaskets, bearings and other items sensitive to heat cannot be processed.

  

3. Cast Plus, Inc. is not responsible for parts received with scale, rust or other foreign material not removed during standard cleaning operations.  Removal may require an additional charge.  This includes laser scale, plating, certain die lubes / release agents, weld flux and galvanized treatments.

  

4. Rough welds, pitted areas and other areas with tight gaps may not get coverage inside them.

  

5. Customer should indicate areas that need to be masked such as bearing races, threaded mounting holes, etc.
