The Powder Coating Advantage

At Cast Plus, Inc., powder coating is not just black and white. The many benefits of powder coatings are offered in a wide variety of tough, durable, price-competitive coatings in colors and textures often not available from most liquid painters or E-coatings.

Powder coatings resist marring and chipping that often occurs during shipping and the durability of a powder coat finish allows for parts to be post-machined. The following cast aluminum TorqPlus™ Electric Actuator housing manufactured by Bettis Actuators and Controls are machined and assembled after powder coating at Cast Plus, Inc.

Durable Surface Finish

Powder coating produces a durable surface finish that allows machining operations to be performed on the part after the powder coating process. Try that on a painted part.

Some coatings are formulated to be very resistant to corrosion, abrasion, and chemicals. Other coating formulations combine these properties with exterior durability such as the hand rails manufactured by Appian Manufacturing on this Kawasaki Loader:

With powder coating, you get a consistent finish, free from sags and drip marks. The textured or wrinkled powders are an attractive way to hide surface imperfections. If the color desired is not found as a stock item from the many powder coat suppliers such as Morton International, T.C.I., Herberts-Obrien and Prism Powder Coatings, a custom coating can be formulated to meet the color, gloss level, texture and performance characteristic required.

Many powder coatings are formulated for special functions or for specific uses such as powders with an F.D.A. status. This means the powder contains ingredients that may be used on products for processing, handling or packaging food.

Because of the nature of our application, there are no solvents released during production. The overspray can be reclaimed and re-used almost eliminating waste. No solvents are needed for clean-up so health and safety concerns are minimized.
